Speaker:
Andy Kriebel, Tableau Zen Master and Head Coach of The Data School – https://www.thedataschool.co.uk/blog/andy-kriebel/.

Bio:
Andy, a five-time Tableau Zen Master, stumbled upon Tableau in 2007 when he was desperate for help to quickly create dashboards using SSAS cubes. Since then, it’s been Andy’s personal mission to help as many people as possible “see and understand” their data with Tableau, which is the focus of his role as Head Coach at The Information Lab’s Data School. Data is knowledge, but Andy believes that seeing data is insight.
In August 2009 he launched vizwiz.com, which provides examples of data visualization best practices, methods for improving existing work, and tips and tricks with Tableau Software. He writes three weekly series: Makeover Monday, Tableau Tip Tuesday, and Workout Wednesday. He also writes on datavizdoneright.com every Thursday, a site created to highlight data visualisation best practices. Before joining The Information Lab, Andy also ran the Tableau implementation at Facebook in the US, and before that he worked as an analyst at Coca Cola. He is currently writing a book based on his weekly social data project Makeover Monday – http://www.makeovermonday.co.uk/

Abstract:
Learn about how data visualisation can help show the true story behind data – move from large tables of numbers to visual analysis which reveals trends, outliers and secrets hidden within data. We will showcase Tableau, the market leading data visualisation software, give live demonstrations about how data visualisation can help and show how as students you can get free Tableau licenses for the duration of your studies. We will also give an outline to The Information Lab’s graduate scheme The Data School which presents an excellent opportunity into a career in visual analytics. At The Data School you will receive full training in Tableau and Alteryx, work on team-based projects for real clients during the training period and finally go out on three, six month placements to clients in a diverse range of industries. For more information you can visit our website https://www.thedataschool.co.uk/ or watch a short video about The Data School https://youtu.be/uXPFJTP6V2g.
