Our mission for The WOW Foundation is to develop, nurture and connect the next generation of digital rock stars to work together to build smart, practical solutions for charities around the world who otherwise would not have the resources, technical skills or innovation to build for themselves. The WOW Foundation is a unique not-for-profit, social-impact driven initiative created to address the critical skills gap between HE and the real World Of Work by running a Summer Charity Hackathon supported by and in parallel with a unique, online Professional Skills Programme that will allow WOW Foundation Hack participants the opportunity to access on-trend, bite-size, micro-learning modules specifically around critical employability and professional skills.
To realise our mission, we want to build a smart learning platform that will allow WOW Foundation Summer Hack participants the ability to access and complete a free programme of bite-size, micro-learning modules specifically delivered on key, on-trend and in demand employability and professional skills.
We are looking for students to feedback on a questionnaire around their previous experience and knowledge of any collaborative, remote-working tools that they may have used so that we can validate whether we should look to develop a bespoke platform or aggregate current tools and techniques.
Why WOW Foundation
Sherry Coutu’s Scale Up Report 2015 states that ‘ 87% of start-ups would be able to scale faster if HE graduates had the skills needed to meet customer demand.’ The WOW Foundation Summer Programme and our commercial initiative: WOW ELITE CREW offer a unique, dynamic and progressive trajectory of personal, professional and technical skills development that delivers a proven, tried and tested pipeline of talent into the sector – allowing tech and social start-ups’s and SME’s to access candidates who are ‘ready to hit the ground running’
We believe The WOW Foundation Summer Charity Hack and PSP will offer a dynamic opportunity for students to gain invaluable REAL experience and learning – thus preparing them for the real world of work. “
